1970 Singapore National Heart Association was formed under the Chairmanship by Mr Tan Boon Chiang.
   
1972

SNHA organised the first heart conference in Singapore “5th International 10-day Teaching Seminar in Cardiovascular Epidemiology” and the 5th Asian Pacific Congress of Cardiology.

SNHA held its first annual National Heart Week in Singapore to promote public awareness on heart disease, its causes and preventive measures.

   
1974 SNHA donated the First Coronary Care Ambulance to Singapore General Hospital. This prototype ambulance contained monitoring and telemetric equipment to enable cardiac status to be assessed early.

SNHA also pioneered the first anti-smoking campaign in Singapore.
   
1976 SNHA pioneered the first public campaign on hypertension.
   
1977 SNHA’s dream to establish a National Myocardial Infarction Registry in Singapore was fulfilled. The Singapore Myocardial Infarction Registry formed an important landmark in data collection of patients with acute infarction in Singapore.
   
1985 SNHA raised funds with the Rotary Club of Pandan Garden (Singapore) to pioneer the first CPR training centre in Singapore.
   
1986 The National University of Singapore (NUS) and SNHA financially supported the National University Life Support Training Centre which provided regular courses eg. National Mass CPR training courses.
   
1988 SNHA raised funds to finance the first angioplasty procedures at SIngapore General Hopsital.

SNHA funded the semi-automatic defibrillators for ambulance service at Singapore General Hospital. The defibrillators were found to be so useful that today, all hospital ambulances are equipped with these units.
   
1991 The 1st Annual Scientific Meeting and SNHA lecture was held in December 1991.
   
1992 The SNHA was approved as an Institution of Public Chartered.

The Heartline Support Group (welfare sub-committee) was set up at the Coronary Club which became a regular feature of the SNHA programme of activities.

The 1st edition of the SNHA newsletter “Heartline” was published in 1992.

Dr Low Lip Ping was elected as SNHA's Chairman.

SNHA organised the Asia Pacific Congress of Cardiac and Electrophyscology.
   
1993

SNHA sponsored the International 10-day Teaching Seminar in Advanced Cardiovascular Epidemiology.

SNHA was involved in the auguration of the ASEAN Federation of Heart Foundations. 

   
1996 SNHA organised the Federation of ASEAN Heart Foundations Conference and Asian Pacific Heart Foundation Network Meeting which were attended by representatives from the World Heart Federation, Inter-American Heart Foundations, ASEAN and Asia Pacific Heart Foundations.
   
1997 Dr Wee Kim Wee became the patron of SNH. The first National Heart Council members were appointed.
   
1998 SNHA organised the first fundraising TV charity show “Affairs of the Heart”.

The 3rd International Heart Health Conference was organised and hosted by the SNHA. The focus was on the primary and secondary prevention of heart health. “The Singapore Declaration” containing recommendations and guidelines for the implementation of heart health programmes was published. This gave recognition to Singapore as a leader in promotion of healthy lifestyles.

The Healthier Choice Symbol was launched during National Heart Week 98, with aim of promoting consumer awareness on healthier food choices by raising the level of consciousness when buying food.
   
1999 Believing that heart health education should start at an early age, SNHA implemented the Jump Rope For Heart (JRFH) programme in primary schools nationwide.
   
2000 SNHA commemorated the first ever World Heart Day on 24 September 2000 with a series of events such as Heart Taxis, Heart Trees, Heart Expo and Affairs of the Heart.

SNHA organised the Asia Pacific Tobacco Control Symposium.

The “Friends of the Heart” membership drive was also launched this year as part of SNHA’s comprehensive heart health awareness programme.
   
2002 SNHA assisted in the foundation of the Singapore Hypertension Society.

SNHA organised its first Charity Golf tournament, the SHF-Pfizer Heart Charity Golf 2002.
   
2003 SNHA changed its name from the Singapore National Heart Association to the Singapore Heart Foundation (SHF). With the new name came a more vibrant and complementary logo and a meaningful tagline “Your Heart We Care”.

On 30 October, the SHF also organised the Singapore leg of the “7 marathons over 7 days in 7 countries" challenge. SHF established its first Cardiac Rehabilitation Centre at 10 College Road on 22 April.
