Note: This course is applicable for healthcare professionals only.

This course aims to provide healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills for Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and usage of Automated External Defibrillator (AED), according to the guidelines provided by the National Resuscitation Council (NRC), Singapore.

Course Objectives

At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the rescuer's role in the chain of survival.
  • Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) effectively for adult and infant casualties.
  • Relief foreign body airway obstruction in a conscious and unconscious adult and infant casualties.
  • Use an AED correctly, safely and swiftly.

9am – 6pm (9 hours)*

  • Adult one-man CPR
  • Relief of foreign body airway obstruction in an adult-conscious and unconscious situation
  • Infant CPR
  • Relief of foreign body airway obstruction in an infant-conscious and unconscious situation
  • Use of Automated External Defibrillator (AED)



Healthcare professionals only (i.e. doctors, nurses, EMTs, medics, paramedics). Participants must provide a copy of his/her valid practising certificate upon registration.



BCLS+AED certificate which is valid for 2 years

* Accredited by National Resuscitation Council, Singapore
