Project Heart 2018 - Restart A Heart (Simplified CPR+AED Training)

Restart A Heart (RAH) is a simplified CPR+AED (non-certification) training which includes hands-on practice on how to perform hands-only CPR and how to use an AED. The main objective is to increase awareness on out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) and improve survival rates.

Training features:

  • Practice on training manikin which provide visual feedback on quality chest compressions. Participants will be guided by instructors during the practical.

Training advice:

  • Participants who are pregnant (or suspect that you are pregnant) are strongly advised NOT to participate in the training.

  • Do note that participants will be seated on the floor in groups and there will be some form of physical exertion during the practical (e.g. kneeling on the floor to perform chest compressions).

Attire:

Participants are to be suitably and comfortably dressed.

  • T-shirt and pants/ slacks/ jeans (at least ¾) with comfortable shoes.

  • For ladies – strictly avoid low cut tops, skirts/dresses.

Restart A Heart Pre and Post training surveys:

  • Participants are to complete the Restart A Heart pre and post training surveys before and after the training respectively.

  • Only 1 per registered participant will receive a free goodie bag upon completion of the pre and post training surveys.

  • Upon completion, participants will stand a chance to win lucky draw vouchers (winners will be contacted to collect shopping vouchers @ Singapore Heart Foundation office).

Follow-up assessment (optional):

  • Participants who have completed the Restart A Heart pre and post training surveys and willing to participate in a follow-up simulation assessment (3 to 6 months later) will receive vouchers upon completion of this assessment.

  • Objective: To evaluate the knowledge and skills retention of what you had learned since the training during Project Heart 2018.

  • What is required? No preparation is required, come as you are and apply what you had learned during the training. This should not be thought of as an exam.
