CPR 3A Facilitators

Would you like to help train the next generation of Singaporeans in CPR? Then volunteer with us and become one of our CPR 3A (Anyone, Anytime, Anywhere) Facilitators!
As a CPR 3A Facilitator, you will assist our Heart Safe team in our CPR 3A Enrichment Programme in various schools. You will help monitor the students during training sessions, watching out for common mistakes and guiding them to learn the proper way of performing CPR.
Requirements:
  • At least 17 years old
  • Physically fit
  • Effectively bilingual
  • Willing to undergo a one-time CPR training (1.5 hours) at the SHF office
Please refer to the schedule of upcoming CPR 3A trainings in schools.
Time commitment: As required, depending on availability.

Health Mapping Exercise Adult Volunteers

  • Introduce teams and explain the purpose of visit to residents in appropriate dialect or mother tongue
  • Act as extra eyes and ears to look out for potential danger
  • Manage situations that students are unable to handle
  • Act as translators when necessary

Skills/Traits Needed:

  • Conversant in dialects
  • Have passion for the elderly
  • Love working with students
  • Be physically able to climb stairs or walk the blocks for up to 4 hours

Time commitment: As required, depending on availability. Full day event on Saturday.

Event Volunteers

  • To man SHF booths – merchandising, fundraising, managing the information counter
  • To help in crowd control
  • To pack and distribute goodie bags
  • Other duties based on the type of events

Time commitment: As required, depending on availability. Usually 3–5 hours per shift.

Web Design Volunteers

  • Assist with online publicity campaigns
  • Evaluate and enhance online communications

Volunteers should be competent in Adobe Photoshop, Creative Media Design, Multimedia or equivalent.

Time commitment: As required, depending on availability. Usually 3–5 hours per shift.

Office Administrative Support Volunteers

  • Sort donations
  • Letter shopping – folding letters, pasting stamps
  • Pack goodie bags
  • Media tracking
  • Data entry
  • Make telephone calls
  • Clean blood pressure machines / CPR manikins
  • Other duties at SHF office as required

Time commitment: As required, depending on availability. Usually 3–5 hours per shift.


Volunteer Translators

  • To translate materials (articles, advertisements, educational materials) from English to Chinese, Malay or Tamil, and vice versa
  • To proofread translated materials

Volunteers should be effectively bilingual in English as well as the language that they will be doing the translation for.

Time commitment: As required, depending on availability.


Media Story Volunteers

  • To share your personal experience with heart disease (either as a patient, family member or close friend) through interviews for newspaper, magazines, radio, television and other types of media
  • To be photographed or filmed to add human touch to story if required, but up to volunteer’s discretion

Time commitment: As required, depending on availability.


Volunteer Photographers

  • To take photographs at our events for SHF publications and various marketing communications purposes

Volunteers should be competent, preferably professional in this area.

Time commitment: As required, depending on availability.


Volunteer Videographers

  • To film our events for SHF’s marketing communications purposes

Volunteers should be competent, preferably professional in this area.

Time commitment: As required, depending on availability.


Smoking Cessation Counsellors

  • To provide smoking cessation services
  • To counsel clients on a one-to-one basis
  • Experience in group counselling would be of added value
  • To achieve good rapport with the client, with respect to the service provided
  • To provide a personal approach tailored to the stage of behaviour change of the client. Some objectives include:
    (a) Working through the pros and cons of smoking with the client
    (b) Equipping the client with useful life skills to aid smoking cessation
    (c) Helping the client to progress from his/her current stage of behaviour to the next
Volunteers are required to be interviewed by Mr Tay Hung Yong, Manager of Heart Wellness Centre.
Time commitment: As required, depending on availability.
