SHF Research
Grants
SHF believes that reducing disability and death from heart disease is dependent on the ongoing drive
to understand its nature and causes, and to implement effective public education and prevention
programs. We believe that the results of high quality research will advance the aim of saving and
improving the lives of people suffering from the ravages of heart disease.
SHF is committed to promoting multidisciplinary community-based research programmes for the benefit of
the Singapore public. We support established as well as beginning investigators, and offer "seed"
funds to promote research into heart health.
Request For Research Proposals
SHF is seeking applications for research grants from healthcare professionals. Medical doctors,
pharmacists, scientists, nursing officers, dietitians, physiotherapists, medical social workers and
other paramedical professionals are eligible to apply. The closing date for submission of completed
research applications is 15 March 2006. All meritorious proposals will be considered.
The SHF announces special calls for community-based research applications in the fields of exercise,
nutrition and heart health. Exercise physiologists, nutritionists and dietitians are strongly
encouraged to submit their projects or to contact SHF to explore joint projects with the SHF.
