Raising A Heart Smart Family

Parents and caregivers are among the most importa nt people to provide immediate help to infants during emergencies. Their timely response can improve the infants’ survival and neurological outcomes. With this in mind, SHF piloted the “Raising a Heart Smart Family” infant CPR programme on 25 Jun 2022 to raise families’ preparedness for cardiac emergencies.

By Cassandra Lim

The 2-hour training saw 1 9 participants of all ages, including a young boy and a grandmother. Participants learnt to perform infant CPR and choking relief using the inflatable infant manikin introduced by SHF earlier this year.

SHF in-house dietitian Ms Natalie Yeo also shared tips on preparing nutritious meals for the family.

Everyone SHOULD attend this session. Accidents are inevitable, and no one is safe from any potential physical injury, illness or trauma. The safest and wisest thing people can do is to be prepared for any accidents or emergency situations. This is why it is very important for as many people as possible to have at least basic first aid knowledge

said Ms Cynthia Tee, a mummy influencer who attended the event.
