Direct Donor Debit Programme (DDDP) is designed to encourage individuals to give small donations to SHF on a regular basis, while promoting the Foundation’s various programmes. The fund raised will help SHF with its capacity building and help build up its reserves so that SHF will have the financial capability to embark on appropriate and necessary programmes when opportunity arises.
SHF has engaged the services of SALESWORKS Pte Ltd trading under the brand supportworks, formerly known as Appco Pte Ltd, a third party fundraising company to start DDDP. SALESWORKS Pte Ltd (trading under the brand supportworks), is a member of the Cobra Group PLC (UK), a global leader in face-to-face marketing with offices in 20 countries.
DDDP is a donation programme especially designed for members of the public who are interested in supporting SHF’s work of providing highly subsidised cardiac rehabilitation programme and promoting heart health to the public on a monthly or yearly basis. Heart health education and rehabilitation need to be long-term to be effective. As SHF is a non-profit organisation that does not receive any fixed grant, we need regular donations to continue serving the community.
In the past, we discovered through our interaction with the public that many people wanted to donate to SHF more regularly but in smaller amounts. Hence, DDDP is an answer to that request.
DDDP is promoted face to face, an easily accessible and friendly method of giving members of the public a chance to find out more about SHF’s patient rehabilitation and community awareness work. DDDP is promoted at various places including events, shopping malls and busy bus or MRT interchanges throughout Singapore. All areas are submitted to NCSS for prior approval. The face-to-face approach also makes it easier for those who do not have the opportunity to contribute through other channels, such as visiting our office and website or calling us, to express their support.
There are 3 parties involved: SHF, SALESWORKS trading under the brand supportworks (formerly known as Appco Pte Ltd) and SG Support Services.
We have engaged Salesworks Group Asia trading under the brand supportworks, formerly known as Appco Group Asia, a reputable third party fundraiser, which sends small teams of trained fundraisers known as “SHF Field Representatives” to promote DDDP at pre-approved venues in Singapore. Supportworks, Fundraising is the largest face-to-face donor recruitment agency in Asia, with a network of more than 1,000 dedicated fundraisers across seven countries across South East Asia, Hong Kong and Korea. In Singapore, through Supportworks’s expert approach, insistence on quality and passion for the good cause it represents the Foundation, over 64,000 donors have been acquired.
SG Support Services, our other partner, helps us to manage the programme’s administrative work.
SHF’s programmes and services are offered to beneficiaries and members of the public at heavily subsidised rates. Consistent funding is needed to sustain these initiatives.
As such, under DDDP, we encourage our donors to make recurring contributions of an amount and frequency of which they are comfortable. However, should the donor prefer to make a one-time donation, we would also be most grateful.
We welcome all donations and SHF Field Representatives are trained to accept both recurring and one-time donations. We do not set a minimum amount for one-time donations and all our donation forms have an option for donors to write any amount that they wish to contribute.
Monthly donations start at S$38. It is really a small sum to put aside (only S$1.25 per day) and yet this sum will go a long way towards a healthier Singapore!
Every donation is highly valued and crucial for us to continue our work.
You can make a donation to SHF through Credit Card (CC) or GIRO.
(Note: SHF Field Representatives are trained NOT to accept cash donations. We accept cheques ONLY when the donor prefers NOT to donate through CC or GIRO.)
As SHF is a non-profit organisation that depends on public donations, our patient rehabilitation and public education work is largely funded by good-hearted individuals like you. We need consistent funding to enable us to plan our work for the community. Your generosity through monthly donations will help SHF carry out long-term programmes aimed at educating and leaving future generations with a healthier heart and a better life.
We would love to, but we are not able to bear the considerable cost of setting up a team large enough to manage and carry out the DDDP. That is why we are partnering with a market leader like SALESWORKS trading under the brand support works (formerly known as Appco Pte Ltd) that specialises in face-to-face marketing. This partnership enables SHF to save costs and channel much more of your valuable donations directly to our heart health awareness and cardiac rehabilitation programmes.
Face-to-face fundraising is a regular, professional job that requires long-term commitment, hard work and specific skills. All SHF Field Representatives undergo intensive training before they begin work. While we sincerely thank our volunteers for playing a valuable role in specific fundraising activities, their commitments outside the time that they generously donate to SHF mean that they are not the ideal candidates for this particular type of programme.
Yes. 100% of all the funds raised goes directly to SHF. DDDP is a safe and convenient way for members of the public to donate to us as we only accept credit card transactions and all the monies are debited directly into SHF’s bank account. SHF pays SALESWORKS trading under the brand supportworks a small fee for the work done. Each year, we allocate a budget for various fundraising activities: special events, direct mailers and so forth. It is from this pre-allocated, strictly approved budget that this fee is paid. This fee adheres to the guideline under the Charities (Registration of Charities) Regulations, issued by the Commissioner of Charities and contributes to the programme’s overheads.
The funds raised are used by SHF for its operations and life-saving programmes aimed at promoting preventive measures against heart disease to the public; supporting community-based research aimed at gaining a better understanding of the landscape of heart disease in Singapore; getting more people trained in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AED); providing rehabilitative and preventive care for recovering heart patients and at-risk individuals; as well as offering financial assistance to needy heart patients for emergency relief and treatment.
More information about these life-saving programmes can be found under Cardiac Rehabilitation and Heart Wellness, Community Education, Schools Programme and Heart Safe Singapore.
All our representatives on duty are dressed smartly in a red polo shirt and they carry an ID badge using SHF lanyard, as featured in the 2 samples below:
They are also required to carry a copy of the CCA (Collectors Certificate of Authority), issued by NCSS, which details the name of each individual fundraiser. You can scan the QR code on the CCA or SMS “FR (e.g. FR XXXXXXXXXX OR FR Singapore Heart Foundation) to 79777 for immediate verification.
Alternatively, you may also contact SHF directly and provide us with the full name or ID badge number of the representative you wish to verify.
A sample of the CCA looks like this:
1. The CCA should be printed on SHF’s letterhead with complete contact details.
2. A valid NCSS Approval Number should reflect clearly. Verify in step 5 and 6.
3. The collector (or volunteer) must write/print their name, NRIC/Fin number and age.
4. The collector (or volunteer) and SHF’s representative must sign in this portion, accompanied with SHF’s stamp.
5. Since 2011, all CCAs issued by NCSS have a clear QR code. Scan the QR code using a mobile application, to obtain the fundraising event’s information on NCSS website.
6. SMS “FR” E.g. FR 2016110312 OR FR Singapore Heart Foundation to 79777 for immediate verification.
Every dollar is crucial to carry out our awareness and rehabilitation work and we hope we continue to merit your kind support. However, should you ever need to stop your donation, all you have to do is contact us through the contact details provided below. We will process your request immediately. However, please allow a maximum of 30 days for the termination of GIRO and credit card arrangements to take effect.
