The myResponder app is a mobile application by the Singapore Civil Defence Force to alert members of the public to nearby cardiac arrest cases and minor fires.
For cases of sudden cardiac arrest, the myResponder app is a handy tool for members of the public, or Community First Responders (CFRs), to report or respond to cases.
By reporting sudden cardiac arrest cases through the “Call 995” button on the app, users can send their geolocation to SCDF’s 995 Operations Centre, enabling SCDF to dispatch the emergency resources to the scene sooner. Dispatchers will also provide instructions to the caller over the phone on the steps to perform CPR.
Once SCDF’s 995 Operations Centre receives the geolocation of the case, the dispatcher will send an alert to the CFRs within 400m of the location. When responding to cases, the myResponder app tells CFRs where to proceed to help with CPR. They can also use the app to locate the nearest AED before proceeding to the stated location.
