Refrain from drinking alcohol with medication. Medications can interact with alcohol, affecting the effect of drugs and how they work. In severe circumstances, alcohol’s interaction with drugs can also increase the risk of complications such as stomach bleeding, liver damage etc.
If you are taking over-the-counter or prescription medication (e.g. statins and aspirins), it is important to check with a pharmacist or doctor for any potential adverse interaction with alcohol.
