Exercising at home have become commonplace since Circuit Breaker, and with a library of virtual workouts made easily accessible, there is no excuse not to exercise – that includes workouts that require equipment!
Between 2-16 Mar 2021, the Heart Wellness Centre (HWC) held a DIY Exercise Equipment Contest, challenging clients to repurpose everyday objects and turn them into exercise equipment of any kind. In first place, we have Mdm Leng Ten Buay from Fortune @ HWC with her sturdy Step Board, fashioned from a stack of newspapers, secured with cardboard and tape.

Runner-up, Mdm Soh Wai Fong from HWC @ Bishan gave her old t-shirts a new lease of life, filling them up with various types of dried beans to create comfortable hand and ankle weights.

In third place, Miss Su Yiru from HWC @ Fortune turned the good ol’ bamboo pole into a dumbbell by placing 1.5L water bottles on both ends.

Thank you to all participants who shared their creations with us!
