It is one of the most coveted prizes for writers, and it is an important landmark to know that we have different groups of people who acknowledge the value of our work. Having this award will further add value and weight to the information provided to the readers.
I got to thank my publisher Chin Kar for submitting my book for the award’s consideration.
Can you give us a brief introduction to your book Stayin’ Alive – Health Myths and Facts Uncovered?
The book is divided into three parts:
Where did you get the inspiration to write this book?
As society advances at breakneck speed amid widespread digital disruption and information avalanche – including the ever-increasing bombardment of contradictory advice and news on health – it makes it difficult for a layperson to identify what should be adopted, learned or challenged.
As my patients, colleagues and friends unceasingly asked me to clarify numerous health and medical issues they encounter from various sources (including word-of-mouth, emails, WhatsApp), it prompted much searching on my part. That eventually formed the basis and contents outline for the book.
