On 29 September 2023, the Singapore Heart Foundation (SHF) will work with 21 buildings and landmarks in Singapore to illuminate the island in red to mark World Heart Day 2023. As part of World Heart Day, the #GoRedforWHD movement aims to educate and motivate people to care for their hearts, using red as a symbol of heart health and a warning to look out for the red flags of cardiovascular disease. This iconic display of red by participating buildings and landmarks, including Junction 8, Singapore Sports Hub and The Fullerton Hotel, signifies their contributions to raising awareness of heart health in Singapore. Please see the complete list of buildings participating in Go Red for World Heart Day 2023, as appended below.
In line with this year’s theme of controlling high blood pressure and sodium intake, SHF will host a social media challenge to encourage Singaporeans to take control of their heart health. Five lucky winners will stand a chance to win a free blood pressure monitor, which they can use to detect high blood pressure through regular monitoring. The contest will take place only on 29 September 2023. Winners will be announced on SHF’s Facebook and Instagram page.
