Community First Responder Fun Walk

On 15 Mar, we carried out the Community First Responder (CFR) Fun Walk, a 5.5km walk that started from Kembangan MRT and ended at East Coast Park. This was in support of Singapore Heart Foundation’s 55th Anniversary.

We shared about SHF’s ongoing collaboration with the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) on the Save-A-Life Initiative. The aim is to register publicly accessible AEDs into the myResponder app, which helps CFRs in locating an AED when responding to cardiac emergencies. The CFRs also took part in the AED Hunt, our social media campaign where participants looked for mystery AEDs located around Singapore and completed tasks at the AED’s site; clues were provided on the Save-A-Life social pages.

The event was also supported by the Singapore Red Cross (SRC). Mr Ambrose Lee, Head for Singapore Red Cross Academy’s Centre for First Aid and Life Support, shared about their First Aid On Wheels initiative, and the various cases that SRC’s First Aiders were involved in. The First Aid on Wheels project was a specific stop along the route.

As a final call to action, we shared about SHF’s upcoming events with the CFRs for their participation.
