Unleash your creativity and nurture a healthier heart!

Students in primary and secondary schools across Singapore are invited to participate in Art for the Heart 2026. 

The theme for this year’s competition, Strong Hearts, Bright Future, highlights the importance of incorporating positive daily habits to maintain a strong and healthy heart, so that individuals can be empowered to look forward to a healthier tomorrow. 

Create an artwork that focuses on any of these three principles: 

  1. Eating healthily 
  2. Exercising regularly 
  3. Managing stress 

Let your creativity shine! Your artistic creation may be featured in one of SMRT’s train stations! Plus, stand a chance to win attractive prizes worth up to $250 if your artwork is a winning entry!

Submission Guidelines

  1. Relevance to Theme: Your artwork should focus on any of these 3 principles: eating healthily, exercising regularly and/or managing stress. Your artwork should show how your chosen principle can lead to a strong heart and bright future. 
  2. Artwork requirements: Artwork should be 2D and A3-sized, with the participant’s full name, class and school clearly written behind the artwork.  Each artwork should contain a title.
  3. Submission: Submit a clear image of your artwork through the link provided, along with a short write-up of no more than 50 words explaining the main components of your artworkYou may ask an adult (e.g., parent/guardian/teacher) to help you with the submission. 

Judging Criteria

  1. Relevance to Theme: Effectiveness of the artwork in capturing the theme of cultivating a strong heart through healthy eating, exercising regularly or managing stress, while conveying a sense of hope and a positive future.
  2. Accuracy of Information and Impact: Ability of the artwork to convey factual and meaningful messages related to the theme through visual expression.
  3. Design and Visual Appeal: Effective and thoughtful use of colours and artistic elements/techniques.
  4. Creativity and Originality: Demonstration of originality, imagination and a compelling interpretation of the theme through the artwork.

Collection of Artwork by SHF for Shortlisted Entries

  • For shortlisted artworks, you are required to submit your original artwork physically for digitalisation and photography purposes. Should your artwork be shortlisted, an email containing more details will be sent to you by Friday, 12 Jun 2026.  
  • All winners of the competition will be informed between 10 Nov 2026 and 13 November 2026
  • For all other participants, we recommend that your original artwork be kept safely until 31 Dec 2026. 

Terms & Conditions

The Art for the Heart Strong Hearts, Bright Future” Art Competition 2026 (“the Competition”is organised by the Singapore Heart Foundation (“the Organiser”), in conjunction with the National Heart Week/World Heart Day 2026. 

  1. By participating in the Competition, the participant agrees to the following Terms & Conditions.
  2. Participation in the Competition constitutes the participant’s agreement to and acceptance of these Terms & Conditions and the decisions of the Organiser, which are final and binding. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements as stated in these Terms & Conditions.
  3. Eligibility: 
    1. Participants must be aged 7 to 17 in 2026 and residing in Singapore. The participant must submit their entry with a clear photo of the artwork and a write-up. For participants studying in primary school, an adult (e.g., teacher, parent, guardian) must submit the materials on your behalf.
  4. How to Participate in the Contest:
    1. The participant must do the following: 
      1. Create an artwork that embodies the theme “Strong Hearts, Bright Future” based on any of these 3 principles: Eating healthily, Exercising regularly and/or Managing stress.
      2. Write a short write-up about his/her artwork. 
      3. Upload the artwork and write-up at www.myheart.org.sg/artwork-submission.
  5. Entry Requirements: 
    1. The entry must be the original work of the participant that has not been published or won any award previously. 
    2. The entry must not infringe, in any manner, any third party’s right, title, and interest in and to all intellectual property, including patents, copyrights, inventions, original works of authorship, developments, concepts, improvements, designs, discoveries, ideas, trademarks or trade secrets. 
    3. The entry cannot refer to any brand names and cannot be confusingly similar to any third-party product names, brand names or trademarks. 
    4. The entry cannot contain any wording or material that promotes bigotry, racism, hatred, or harm against any group, individual, or discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age or be in violation of any other applicable laws in Singapore. 
    5. The entry cannot contain any wording or material that is inappropriate, obscene, indecent, tortuous, offensive, violent, hateful, or defamatory, or that disparages the Organiser or contains any other content otherwise prohibited by or contrary to the laws of Singapore. 
    6. The entry cannot contain any private and confidential particulars, such as licence plate numbers, NRIC/FIN numbers and contact details, unless otherwise requested by the Organiser to conduct the Competition. 
    7. Any entry that is determined by the Organiser, in its sole discretion, at any time during the Competition, to violate the entry requirements or these Terms & Conditions, or to otherwise be unsuitable, offensive or in poor taste, may be rejected, removed and the accompanying participant disqualified.
  6. Duration of the Competition: 
    1. Competition commences on 2 March 2026 at 8.00a.m. (SGT) and ends on 31 May 2026 at 11.59p.m. (SGT). Late submissions will strictly not be accepted.
  7. Announcement of Shortlisted Participants: 
    1. Shortlisted participants will be notified by email and/or phone by 12 June 2026, Friday and are required to respond and acknowledge within 5 working days after receiving the email. 
    2. The notified participant must submit their original artwork physically at the designated venues within the specified timeframe. Participants who are unable to do so will unfortunately forfeit their shortlisted position, and the Organiser may extend the opportunity to the next eligible participant. 
    3. Entries of shortlisted participants, including their names and photos, may be published on SHF’s website (www.myheart.org.sg,) publications and social media platforms.
  8. Prizes and Announcement of Winners: 
    1. The Organiser will track all the entries submitted and reward the best participants. 
    2. 3 best Participants from Primary and Secondary category respectively who meet the requirements will be selected as winners. The judging process will be conducted internally by the Organiser, with input from professionals in the aesthetic field. The awards are as follows: 
      1. Grand Winner (worth $250)
      2. Runner-Up Winner (worth $150) 
      3. 2nd Runner-Up Winner (worth $100) 
    3. The 3 most popular artwork who meet the requirements will be selected as winners.  This category of awards will be determined by public voting. The awards are as follows: 
      1. Most Popular Winner (worth $150) 
      2. 2nd Most Popular Winner (worth $100) 
      3. 3rd Most Popular Winner (worth $50) 
    4. The winners will be announced by the Organiser between 10 November 2026, Tuesday to 13 November 2026, Friday. 
    5. Winners will be notified by email and/or phone and are required to respond and acknowledge within 10 working days after receiving the notification. The Organiser reserves the right to forfeit any unclaimed prizes and declare other winner(s) in any of such manner the Organiser deems fit. 
    6. Both the Organiser’s decision and results of the public voting is final, and no further appeals will be entertained 
    7. The winners’ entries, including their names and photos, may be published on SHF’s website (www.myheart.org.sg), publications and social media platforms.
  9. Prize conditions: 
    1. The prizes are non-transferable and non-exchangeable for cash or other items. 
    2. The Organiser reserves the right to substitute any prize with another item of a similar value without prior notice.  
    3. The Organiser will not be responsible for any taxes, fees, or additional costs that may be incurred by the winners in claiming the prizes. 
    4. By accepting the prizes, the winners agree to participate in any publicity or promotional activities as required by the Organiser. 
    5. Prizes must be collected within a stipulated time frame and at a location specified by the Organiser. Failure to do so will result in the forfeiture of the prize. 
    6. All winners collecting the prizes must be accompanied by an adult (e.g., parent, guardian, or teacher).
  10. Liabilities: 
    1. Participants understand and agree that their participation in the Competition is voluntary and at their own risk. The Organiser shall not be liable for any personal injury, loss or damage whatsoever suffered by any participant in relation to the Competition. 
    2. The Organiser reserves the right at any time to modify the Terms and Conditions and/or cancel this Competition by posting the updates on SHF’s website. 
    3. All matters and disputes arising from or in connection with the Competition and/or these Terms & Conditions shall be subject to the sole decision of the Organiser, and the Organiser’s decision shall be final and binding on all parties. 
    4. By submitting the artwork, participants confirm that the work is their original creation and does not infringe on any third-party rights. Participants agree to indemnify the Organiser against any claims of infringement or misuse of intellectual property. The Organisers reserve the right to disqualify any participant who does not adhere to the competition rules or whose artwork is deemed inappropriate or offensive. The Organiser’s decision is final and binding.
  11. Collection of Personal Information: 
    1. The Organiser may collect personal information to conduct the Competition and may, for this purpose, disclose such information to third parties, including but not limited to agents, contractors, service providers, prize suppliers and, as required, to Singaporean regulatory authorities. Entry is conditional on providing this information. All entries become the property of the Organiser. 
    2. The Organiser may use the participants’ entries, including their names and videos/photos, for publicity in the Organiser’s programmes and/or use in advertisements across all media in its original or edited format, without further notification, remuneration or compensation. 
    3. By participating in the Competition, the participants are deemed to have specifically granted their respective consent to such participant’s personal information being collected, used and disclosed in accordance with these Terms and Conditions and the Organiser’s privacy policy.
