Wear Red Day, a significant element of the Go Red for Women (GRFW) campaign, is usually celebrated on the first Friday of February. This year, the Singapore Heart Foundation celebrated Wear Red Day on 2 Feb 2024 with staff, clients of the Heart Wellness Centres, and friends from the neighbouring Social Services Agencies (SSA).

During the event, Dr Chan Wan Xian, GRFW Committee Chairperson, and Dr Ong Chen Hui, GRFW Committee Member, delivered insightful explanations about the risks associated with high blood pressure and tips on how to manage their blood pressure.

A poignant moment was when Mdm Angie Ng, a client of the Heart Wellness Centre, shared her recovery journey following her heart attack. She credits the introduction to SHF’s Heart Wellness Programme, a cardiac rehabilitation programme, for her transformative experience.

Participants checked their blood pressure (BP) in an interactive demonstration and training led by SHF’s School Programmes team.
All SSAs who participated in the event received a BP Awareness Kit that contained a BP monitor and educational materials. This kit will be used to set up BP monitoring stations at the various SSAs to benefit both their beneficiaries and employees.
