A study assessed 500,000 Chinese people over a period of 7 years and found that those who ate more fresh fruits had an estimated 0.2% decreased risk of developing diabetes, while diabetic patients had a 1.9% lowered risk of mortality and reduced risks of microvascular and macrovascular complications.
