Formation or presence of a blood clot.
Otherwise known as trans fatty acid, it is created by turning liquid vegetable oil into a solid through hydrogenation. Trans fat is found in vegetable shortenings and some margarine, crackers, cookies, snacks and other food.
A protein that inhibits the contraction of muscle tissue.
A clot of coagulated blood that forms within a blood vessel or inside the heart, often impeding blood flow.
A minor stroke that causes stroke-like symptoms but no lasting damage. It is an important predictor of a full-blown stroke.
