Lower Sodium Asian Ginger Garlic Chili Fish

Ingredients

  • White fish fillet, 500g
  • Grated ginger, 1 tbsp
  • Minced garlic, 1 tbsp
  • Ground red chili, 1 tbsp
  • Water, 3 tbsp
  • Lower in sodium dark soy sauce, 1/2 tbsp
  • Lower in sodium light soy sauce, 1/2 tbsp
  • Lemon juice, 1-2 tsp
  • Sesame seeds, Optional
  • Canola oil, As needed
  • White pepper, To taste

Method

  1. Rinse and pat dry the fish fillet. Cut them into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a bowl, mix the grated ginger and minced garlic, grounded red chilli, water, light and dark soy sauce and lemon juice.
  3. Marinate the fish pieces in this mixture for about 30 minutes.
  4. Heat canola oil in a pan over medium heat.
  5. Pan fry the fish until cooked and lightly brown, in about 5-7 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle sesame seeds.
  7. Season with white pepper.
  8. Serve hot with brown steamed rice and a side of vegetables.
