The theme for the Art for the Heart Art Competition 2025 is “Resilient Hearts”, which is aligned with the Singapore Heart Foundation’s 55th anniversary celebration’s theme, and it highlights the importance of adopting a heart-healthy lifestyle.
Explore mixed media techniques and incorporate various art media alongside recycled materials in your artwork. The integration of recycled elements not only supports environmental sustainability, but also symbolises creativity, innovation and the spirit of resilience.

Competition Period:

How to Participate:
- To educate students on the importance of healthy lifestyle habits that support heart health.
- To provide a structured opportunity for students to demonstrate creativity through visual arts.
- To encourage independent research and critical reflection on heart health through art.

Submission Guidelines
- Theme relevance: Your artwork must reflect the connection between positive lifestyle choices, such as your favourite exercises and hobbies, and a healthier heart, or choose to interpret the theme creatively based on your own experiences and personal interpretations.
- Artwork requirements: Artwork should be created on an A3-size drawing block, with the participant’s full name, class and school clearly written on the front. Each artwork should contain a title. Refer to the image below for the guidelines and specifications of your artwork:

- Write-up guidelines: Include a short, well-organised and clear write-up (maximum 150 words) to accompany your artwork.
Here are some guiding questions:
What does “Resilient Hearts” mean to you?
Who or what inspired your artwork?
What message do you hope viewers will take away from it?
- Art style and recycled elements: Use of 2D Mixed Media Art style that combines at least one type of art medium (e.g., pencil, watercolor pencils, acrylic paint, crayons) with collage techniques, and includes at least one recycled material (e.g., newspapers, bottle caps, cardboard).
Definition of 2D Mixed Media Artwork: flat artwork that uses different art mediums and may include use of different materials such as recycled materials;
Definition of collage techniques: pasting different materials (e.g., newspapers, cardboard) onto a surface to create an image
- Submission: Ensure that your entry follows all listed guidelines and specifications, including theme relevance, format, materials and presentation requirements. Ensure that the image of your artwork is visually clear. Have an adult (e.g., parent/guardian/teacher) to submit the image of your artwork on your behalf with one short write-up (no more than 150 words) through Jotform. Lastly, ensure that the original artwork is kept safely until 31 Dec 2025. For the purpose of photo-taking, winners of the competition are encouraged to bring their original artwork when collecting their prize.
Judging Criteria
- The artwork effectively captures the theme of heart-healthy lifestyle choices or reflects the participant’s personal interpretation.
- Use of colours, recycled materials and art media enhances the overall visual impact.
- The write-up is well-organised, logical and supports the artwork in conveying the theme.
