On 7 May 2026, the Singapore Heart Foundation (SHF) teamed up with ITE College West for the “United Hearts, One Cause” event, a key higlight of the Go Red for Women (GRFW) campaign. Graced by Ms Rahayu Mahzam, Minister of State, Ministry of Digital Development and Information, and Ministry of Health, the event engaged students and staff through a series of meaningful and interactive activities focused on women’s heart health.
The day also marked the official launch of the H.E.L.P. mnemonic, a tool designed to help women recognise atypical heart attack symptoms, and brought the community together to achieve two Singapore Book of Records: the largest word formation made of hand-sewn rubber hearts and the most people attempting the 3-minute step test within an hour. From a student-led healthy cooking competition to engaging interactive booths, the event successfully bridged health education with meaningful community action.
Representatives from SHF and ITE College West were joined by Guest of Honour Ms Rahayu Mahzam to officially launch the H.E.L.P. mnemonic. In a striking display, 1,000 hand-stitched rubber hearts—drawing inspiration from the precision of Edwards Lifesciences Singapore’s heart valve replacements—were brought together to form a powerful message in support of women’s heart health.
Over 500 students and staff put their stamina to the test in pursuit of the day’s second record, while Culinary and Pastry students from ITE College West showcased their creativity by transforming simple canned ingredients into heart-healthy dishes— with the winning creation set to be featured at Amber West restaurant. The event was further energised by the presence of content creator Caitanya Tan, who helped amplify awareness of the H.E.L.P. mnemonic.
