On Saturday 12 Oct 2024, the Singapore Heart Foundation marked its 13th edition of Project Heart, held in conjunction with World Restart A Heart Day and the Survivor Awards Singapore. The Guest of Honour was Mr Baey Yam Keng, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment & Ministry of Transport.
We would like to extend our sincerest appreciation to all volunteer instructors from our event partners. We look forward to continued collaboration in advocating for CPR+AED literacy within the community.
In the lead-up to Project Heart, SHF also organised a series of CPR+AED awareness sessions in collaboration with the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), Singapore Red Cross, St John Singapore, Sport Singapore and the Ministry of Manpower to commemorate World Restart A Heart Day, which is celebrated globally on Wednesday, 16 Oct. Since early Sep, these satellite events have facilitated the training of over 3,500 participants.
The formation of the National Community Emergency and Resilience Workgroup, co-chaired by the Singapore Civil Defence Force and Unit for Pre-hospital Emergency Care, was announced. With the aim of advancing strategies to strengthen Singapore’s readiness, resilience, and responsiveness to out-of-hospital cardiac arrests, SHF is proud to be part of this dynamic workgroup, which includes the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Manpower, SAF Medical Training Institute, Singapore Red Cross, Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council, Sport Singapore, and St John Singapore.
Nearly 700 members of the public, insurance and property agents were certified at this year’s mass CPR+AED training event, which was held at Our Tampines Hub.
Themed “Safe Home, Safe Hearts”, the focus of Project Heart 2024 was on strengthening emergency preparedness in the home, where most cases of sudden cardiac arrest occur.
Congratulations to the 33 individuals who received certificates of commendation at the Survivor Awards Singapore 2024 for their brave resuscitation efforts.
