Project Heart 2025
On 11 Oct 2025 (Sat), the Singapore Heart Foundation (SHF) held the 14th edition of Project Heart at ITE College West, marking the first time the event was held in western Singapore. Graced by Mr Cai Yinzhou, Member of Parliament for Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC and an active Community First Responder (CFR), the event was organised in conjunction with World Restart A Heart Day and Survivor Awards Singapore.
Mr Cai Yinzhou officiates the launch of Project Heart 2025 with Clin A/Prof Ching Chi Keong, Chairperson of Heart Safe Committee and Honorary Secretary of SHF; Dr Benjamin Leong, Clinical Director of the Unit for Pre-hospital Emergency Care; Prof Lim Swee Han, Senior Consultant, Chairperson of Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council (SRFAC); and Mr Geoffrey Ong, CEO of SHF, reinforcing community action in life-saving preparedness.
Promotional videos featuring, former Goalkeeper Hassan Sunny, long-distance runner Vanessa Lee and Paralympic archer Nur Syahidah Binte Alim, encouraged more Singaporeans to get CPR+AED trained.
Guided by the theme “Game On, Heart Strong,” this year’s event focused on raising awareness about the sports community’s elevated risk of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA). It underscored the critical need for CPR and AED preparedness.
National athletes Hassan Sunny and Vanessa Lee were present as advocates for the event, highlighting its importance alongside staying fit and being active.
Project Heart 2025 successfully trained close to 800 participants on-site, contributing to a nationwide effort that saw over 8,000 individuals trained through satellite sessions in the lead-up to the event.
Honouring Life-Saving Heroes
The event was supported by partners from the Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council, Unit for Pre-hospital Emergency Care, Singapore Red Cross, St John Singapore, Sport Singapore, Active SG, Team Nila, Institute of Technical Education, Nanyang Polytechnic, SingHealth Group, National Healthcare Group, National University Health System and Singapore Armed Forces.
Mr Chung Fook Mun, a former footballer who survived two cardiac arrests, was one of the seven survivors who reunited with their rescuers at the Survivor Awards Singapore. Mr Chung
has since become a CPR+AED advocate, encouraging his football club members to be trained by SHF.
