Frequently Asked Questions (Family Outreach)

What if the students lose the BP monitor?
In any case where the students lose the BP monitor, SHF will bear the cost. There will not be any fee charged to the school or the student. The teacher IC will need to submit a Lost / Damaged Declaration Form.

What if the BP monitor is damaged?
All BP monitors will be tested during the hands-on BP measurement session before the students bring it home. If a faulty BP monitor is issued, there will be a replacement done in class. If the BP monitor is damaged while at home, the teacher IC will need to submit a Lost / Damaged Declaration Form.

Can I extend the loan period for the students?
Yes, schools may choose to extend the loan period. However, a short campaign period of 1-3 days is encouraged as it helps with the retention of knowledge and skills for application, gives students a sense of urgency for the task and allows teachers to have an easier collection process.

Why does SHF need the students’ class list?
The class list allows SHF to pre-assign the BP monitors to the students. This is to ensure greater accountability and allow a more organised distribution and collection process in class. This allows the class time to be used more effectively for learning instead of sorting out the logistic arrangement. A copy of the assigned class list will be returned to the subject teacher on the day of the programme. All SHF copies will be shredded upon return of the BP monitors to ensure confidentiality of the class list.
