Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) + AED Instructor Course

This course aims to equip BCLS + AED instructors with the essential knowledge and skills to coach, organise and facilitate BCLS + AED provider course according to the SRFAC guidelines, which also includes planning, instructing, effective testing and equipment management. Upon successful completion of the training, participants will receive a BCLS+AED certification with two years validity accredited by SRFAC.

Eligibility

A valid BCLS + AED Provider Certificate from a SRFAC accredited Training Centre.


Accreditation

The programme is accredited by the Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council.

Upon completion of classroom training, participants are required to complete at least 1 attachment with Singapore Heart Foundation and another attachment at any Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council Accredited BCLS + AED Training Centre. Once the 2 attachments have been completed, a valid BCLS + AED Instructor certificate will be issued.


Certification

The certificate is valid for 2 years and is renewable once the instructor has assumed the role as an instructor at least twice per year in any Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council BCLS + AED Provider Course Training Centre.


Things to note during Phase 2 “Safe Transition”
The Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council (SRFAC) and Ministry of Health (MOH) have allowed Singapore Heart Foundation to resume life support courses (i.e. CPR+AED certification courses and BCLS+AED certification courses).

The class size will be capped at 8 learners with effect from 24 August 2020.
